Lucknowi Chikankari Anarkalis

An anarkali gives chikankari the most room to move: a fitted bodice and a flared skirt of many panels, each one embroidered. Tehzeeb's chikankari anarkalis are hand embroidered in Lucknow in ek taar and haath jaali, on georgette, organza, chanderi and silk, and made to order with a dupatta to match.

The collection includes floor-length anarkalis for weddings and receptions, lighter knee-length pieces for festive days, and Mughal nakkashi designs with jaali panels. Panel count, flare, sleeve and dupatta are all chosen with you.

To enquire, use the WhatsApp button on the anarkali's page. We reply with the embroidery close up, fabric and colour options, and a delivery date.

Questions we are asked

Is a chikankari anarkali suitable for a bride?

Yes. A floor-length ek taar anarkali in ivory or a pastel, with a heavier dupatta and mukaish or zardosi highlights, is a bridal choice in Lucknow, and lighter versions suit the mehndi, sangeet and reception. Tell us the function and we will design the weight accordingly.

How is the flare of an anarkali decided?

By the number of panels, called kalis. More kalis give a fuller skirt and more surface for embroidery. Tehzeeb's anarkalis are cut to your height and the flare you want, so the hem sits where it should when you walk.

Which fabric works best for an anarkali?

Georgette for softness and movement, organza for a skirt that stands away from the body, chanderi and silk for weight and sheen in winter. Each takes chikankari differently; we will show you the same motif on the fabrics you are considering.

Can I get a matching dupatta and bottom?

Yes. Every anarkali is made as a set with a dupatta and a churidar, pant or sharara, embroidered to match, in the same hand as the anarkali.
