Hand Embroidered Chikankari Dupattas
A chikankari dupatta is the quickest way to bring hand embroidery into an outfit you already own, and the piece most often bought as a gift. Tehzeeb's dupattas are hand embroidered in Lucknow in ek taar, haath jaali and parsi gara on georgette, organza, silk and mulmul, each made to order.
The collection runs from an all-white ek taar dupatta with a jaali border to parsi gara and kashidakari pieces in colour. Length, border depth and the density of the field are chosen with you, and a dupatta can be made to match a suit or lehenga you already have.
To enquire, use the WhatsApp button on the dupatta's page and we will reply with the embroidery close up, fabric options and a date.
Questions we are asked
What length is a chikankari dupatta?
Tehzeeb's dupattas are usually two and a half metres, long enough to drape over both shoulders or trail on one side. A longer or shorter length can be made to order.
Can a dupatta be matched to an outfit I already have?
Yes. Send us a photograph of the outfit and we will suggest the base colour, the thread and the border so the dupatta sits with it, or embroider it to echo a motif from the garment.
Which fabric is best for a chikankari dupatta?
Georgette and chiffon for softness, organza for a crisp fall that shows jaali work, mulmul for daily wear, silk for weddings. White on white is the classic; colour and parsi gara work are also available.
Do you ship dupattas outside India?
Yes, worldwide. A dupatta needs no measurements, so it is the simplest piece to send as a gift; tell us the address and we will give you the transit time and any duties.
